Hey Luke 83
Thanks for your interest.
I acquired my Kwila from Papua New Guinea. Friends of mine have a medium sized sawmilling operation there. They have been selling most of their timber to the Brisbane wholesale market.
I purchased a few cbm of posts from them back in June last year, and the timber i posted for sale back in October was what i had not used.
The response for the dressed kwila posts was quite overwhelming that i have since purchased a few more containers from them and I am selling part time to the building industry and home renovators.
Should you be interested i currently have the following in stock:
90mm x 90mm DAR (Pencil rounded Profile) Kwila Posts (select grade)
Lengths 2.4, 2.7 & 3.0m selling @ $18. 95 per l/m
100mm x 100mm DAR (Square Dressed) Kwila Posts (select Grade)
Lengths 2.4, 2.7 & 3.0m selling @ $19. 95 per l/m
100mm x 100mm R / S Kwila Posts (select Grade)
Lengths 2.4, 2.7 & 3.0 m selling @ $15. 75 per l/m
88mm x 19mm Kwila decking (Not reeded, smooth both sides) (select Grade)
Lengths up to 5.7m selling @ $3.75 per l/m.
Please let me know if this is of any interest to you.

Hi Post Man,
I also have a friend in Papua New Guinea who wants to start exporting Kwila to Australia. He has access to a small milling operation. I am helping him research to work out the feasibility of importing say 1 container per month.
I am very new to this business, i'm trying to find out what the market here in oz (mainly Queensland) is interested in. i.e. 6" by 1" etc and what lengths, dressed (4 sides or two sides or whatever), what kind of dressing, what stage of finishing (1- chainsaw rough, 2- chainsaw rough with 2 sides dressed, 3- milled by a walkabout mill say a lucasmill, 4- lucasmill sawn with 2 sides dressed, 5- milled and dressed by a commercial dressing planer to finished stage), what prices offered. Excuse my ignorance I don't know all the trade terms - maybe you could help me out.
Some of the terms you used above i also don't understand.
I am also researching to find out what is involved with shipping costs and packing requirements/costs etc.
I hope i haven't overloaded you with questions, any further information will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Luke83.

Hi,
Noticed that you are new to the forum.
One of the traps sometimes when doing a search, check the date above the posting.
You have replied to a posting that is dated 2006.
Regards
-Gavin
