Emergency Advice Needed: Should I ask the neighbor for his felled pine trees trunks?
Neighbor just felled some pine trees trunks (last evening) that have had their limbs cut for years.
If they are worth salvaging Should I ask him for the trunks?
Before he has them carted away?
If he hasn't already.
Maybe 500mm wide and smaller.
tiaThanks,
Barry G. Sumpter

I wouldn’t bother, standing pine trunks usually stain and start to rot fairly quickly, so if been standing for a few years they’ll likely be fairly punky

I agree with DJ.
Most milling is a lottery anyway, but with pine the odds seem longer than average that you can extract something useful, especially if you have to pay someone else to mill the logs. I have stopped milling pine because it not that pleasant to mill but also because I hate to see people gamble on the outcome - when they ask my response is something like, "want pine - go to bunnings".
