    Default Export of Native Flora

Question: Can anyone enlighten me regarding the regulations of exporting native flora nominally Banksia Nuts?

Not on a large scale but merely posting a couple of samples!

    TIA

    Cheers

Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film.

Normally there are problems with anything that has seeds, bark or bugs, but banksia pods from Aus are available O/S

    Perhaps ring customs

I think that these may be regarded as a seed pod and that was where I thought perhaps it might pose an issue.

I will ring my local CALM(Conservation and Land Management) office here tomorrow.

I 've got a query from a chap in the States about turning pens out of them.

I know that Federally, if selling you have to apply for a licence to export so I was wondering about just posting a couple off to this bloke and whether anyone had also sent these off shore.

    Cheers

Neil, I think those restrictions only apply to imports into Aus - mainly for quarantine purposes.

John; Most overseas countries have only limited or no quarantine. Easiest solution is to just send them and see what happens.

    Cheers
