    Default External timber

    Hi folks

Most of my projects at the moment are external.

What's a good beginner's external hardwood for planters, boxes, etc?

I've done sleepers and I'm sick to death of treated pine.

I see lots of US projects where cedar is used.

    What's a good Aussie wood?

I thought about Tassie Oak but I understand it's not good for outdoors.

    Thanks in advance

    Bin

When you say external does this also include inground contact? Some hardwoods are fine outside but dont fair so well in/touching the ground. Some good durable hardwoods include ironbark, greygum, turpentine, tallow wood, grey box, forrest red gum, jarrah. There are many other durable hardwoods but these would be the pick of them.

we cut a lot of Class 1 hardwood, that is hardwood that is natualy durable and termite resistant.

things like ironbark, greygum, tallowwood to name a few.

we have quite a lot of good hardwood lying around, give me a ring or an email.
