fancy fence wood, sourcing sizes of cypress / treated pine
Hi all,
I've decided to build a fence from an American design (cos I like it). Its a panel fence made from continuous slats (ie.no gaps), not pickets I am going through a few issues - sourcing sizes of wood about the right size and also wood choice.
So I have 2 questions:
1. This fence involves a fair amount of routing & joinery work and will be painted. So I need a dressed wood, but I suppose the cost choices are either treated pine or cypress. Due to the joinery work, I'm concerned about working with CCA pine from a lealth point of view. What do people recommend wood choice wise - is it ok to work CCA wood and then paint ?
2. Anyone recommend a lumber yard in Melbourne with a good range of wood sizes ?
cheers

Thanks, I suppose I always assumed the cost would be prohibitive, but I'll take that advise and cost it up. Certainly takes a couple of worries out!
