Seems the wood he's used is Beech, but any nice wood should be suitable as it's only a trim piece over the metal panel.
Maybe one of the more local members can suggest a good place for you to buy timber. If you wanted something special look for some curly grained Eucalyptus.
    Some thoughts...
What other woods are around the amp? Do you want it to match or contrast with the cabinet it sits on? Dark timber like the computer model or light like the finished prototype? What woods do the local dealers stock anyway?

    Cheers

Wilco mate..... if you are out in the gold fields and you have ability or a mate who has ability to mill timber...... there are some realy exotic looking lumps of wood to be had out there.
Pieces of wood with a story.... thats not juts a piece of .... that was a slice of timber out of the wheel chocks of the first steam tractor on the goldfields darkie johnson's dad baught it home & it stayed under their house for 60
years till I rescued it...timber with character and a story... how can a
shinybum city hi fi nut compete with that.

    cheers

    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.

    Hello
Please send me the sizes you want in a private message and I will send some photos of what I have available. We also have solid timber if that would be better.
