More good news ... I took it out again this afternoon and repeated the process, only this time selectively spraying the water on the remaining bowed sections. It worked a treat, and took about 60 mins in total, checking every 10 mins. Again, I sprayed the concave surface on the spots that needed it, then laid it concave side down on a tarp and checked every 10 mins. After about 30-40 mins, some sections didnt need any more so I wiped them off, and sprayed some more on the sections that were still showing a gap (I bridged a spirit level across the concave side to gauge how warped each section was). The last bits came good over the last 20 mins or so, so I wiped off the remaining water and brought it back inside.
Huge relief! Thanks for your guidance everyone :)

It feels good when you have a win doesn't it. I initially tried the idea out of desperation but I am sure it was used before I thought of it.
