I am looking to make an entertainment cabinet for our lounge room and need some advice on timber to use, where to get it and how much I should expect to pay.

I am not building from scratch - only "prettying up" some existing cabinets by adding some timber accents. It will be a set of wall hung cabinets and I want to add timber to the top and cascade it down the side as well as underneath and up the wall side of the cabinet. (please see attached picture - the bits in red, cabinets in blue).

I am hoping to use timber that is about 30mm thick that I can put a shark nose edge on and mitre join where the corners meet. I have checked out the option of some FJ pine and I could stain it but this can look very cheap if not done right. The room has mixed hardwood timber floors (looks to be mostly brushbox) but I feel if I try to match this it might not work well - am happy with something that doesn't match and doesn't look like we tried to match it . I do like the walnut or oak look.

I live in Brisbane and the pieces would be:
1585 x 400
650 x 400
1805 x 400
1925 x 100 (wall piece does not have to be full width - just enough to be visible)
(all ~30mm thick)

I am happy to accept any advice on what best to use and where to get it in Brisbane (or surrounds) without breaking the bank. All up the pine would cost about $250 with stains etc.
