    Spooky ...

I emailed them today about some gidgee - nowhere in Melbourne has it, and rare woods are going down the gurgler.

I have a few small pieces but I want more for tray edges (one natural edge) the dark brown body and cream sap wood around the edge look great and polish to an amazing shine (organ oil and ubeaut).

Try Graham Naughton at Loggerheads in Qld.

    email [email protected]

He supplies exotic timbers, particularly to Roger Gifkins for the box kits. I got one with some gidgee in it last Xmas. He may sell it in specific sizes to you. Worth a try.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

As far as I know, Graeme is out of action for a while due to illness. So he may not reply to emails. Let me konw if he does though.

My dad has thousands of acres of the sheyet.... he hates it.... it poisons the grass & everything else & nothing he's interested in will eat it.

I've got a it in a shed somewhere but I'm not sure which one.

OK so tell me what size is a Gidgee board ( length, width, thickness ) , Longreach yes is true about 2 days + drive from HERVEY BAY each way  , for myself I'm a pentruner, so 2 of 2 or 3 foot board long will keep me in heaven, I take the crack pieces if you don't want them

Hey there Darley - what about a bit of other different type of 'western timber'? Let me know what sizes you use for pen blanks and I'll see what I've got lying around.

    Cheers
