They would be of no use to you at all. On the other hand I have a use for them. ha ha.....
I am just starting on the templates for an English style garden bench seat. I have also got some cypress posts that I am going to use. It does crack and split a bit but it should work well and last a long time in the weather.
You could make a nice blanket box for the end of the bed with wide boards like you have there and the smell of the cypress would be great when you open it up. If you want I can send you a plan of the blanket box I just made recently. Mine is blackwood with cedar inside but cypress would suit perfectly.
Col...Good better best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better best.

The name "cypress" can be misleading. In Australia it is applied to our native Callitris species, no relation whatever to true northern hemisphere cypress. The timber is brittle and highly resinous but durable and termite resistant and often has lovely figure.
On the other hand, Bob, golden cypress, as I know it, is Cupressus macrocarpa Brunniana aurea, a true cypress. We call the timber macrocarpa in a effort to differentiate it from the Callitris timber.
Use macrocarpa anywhere a good softwood would be used. I have seen a full cafe of macrocarpa tables and benches. Looked magnificent.
Lovely turning wood as well.Brian

Could make a nice bar for the shed or the living room with it for that matter. Maybe a table and chairs setting for an undercover beer garden or patio!
