Default Interesting grain 1-3" diameter branches?

Hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for ideas on easily sourced species that have interesting end grain. Need to be small diameter cookie size 1-3". I already have some Casuarina sourced from the back yard. I can get some hairy oak. Any other ideas? Need some contrasting colour for a mosaic arrangement between 2 slabs instead of the epoxy thing! Slabs are southern silky oak. I'm in seqld
