    Default Hardwood Weatherboards Wanted

    Hi,
We are building a new house and recycling the weatherboards from the old farm house we pulled down. I am trying to source weatherboards that will match (or come close to matching) the profile of the old boards. Does anybody know of any mills that manufacture hardwood weatherboards on the north coast of NSW?
    Cheers

Coramba timbers west of coffs harbour can match any timber profile you want, it will cost though, they have standard cutter profiles on hand which may match your boards or can grind cutters to any profile you wish to match .

    Default Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply. I got a quote from Coramba - $33 per lineal metre plus $200 set up fee.... this would make for a very expensive wall! I was hoping there might still be a mill somewhere that cuts weatherboards and we could buy some that are near to the size we need. I'll just have to keep doing the rounds of building materials recyclers...

For anyone with a similar problem - I ended up using North Eden Timbers (they are online). Really helpful guys! They cut the boards for half the price of anywhere else (comparable to cypress boards) and freighted them to Sydney. Another freight service picked them up for us and brought them up the coast.

If you've got access to logs a Lucas will cut weatherboards to your hearts content. Could match the size and route to any profile you want if they're not square edge!

your right im not a carpenter im a sawmiller.

i cut both standard weather boards and chamfer board feedstock.

standard weather boards are 175mm x 25mm x 6mm they have a cover of 150mm and used green off saw.

a chamfer board is profiled from a 175mm x 35mm board they are kiln dried.

If an architect or professionally trained designer specifies a weatherboard profile it will be most likely from HB-50. And if your a supplier, builder, carpenter or whatever it's good to be on the same page with terms.
