Default Can anyone help me identify this timber?

    Hi friendly woodworkers,
I am restoring an old window I bought from a tip shop. The upper frame is all hardwood, but when stripping it down I noticed the sill is a pine of some kind.
I'm going to install it in a relatively exposed coastal location. The window is probably over 50 years old at a guess and it appears to have has been an external window. The sill is in good condition so I assume it's a pine with decent external qualities. But I'm concerned as it looks to me like Radiata. (I'm just an enthusiastic amateur, so not an expert in timber species).
Any wise woodworkers out there who could tell what I've got from these pictures? Or any other advice on how to judge the species and its likely longevity in an exposed location?

Any general advice about preparing it would be appreciated too

It looks like Oregon (Douglas Fir) to me. If so it's not really rated as a durable outdoor timber, but would probably still last a long time if properly protected from the elements with a suitable finish that's well maintained.

Thank you! I think that's correct after comparing grains of pictures online.
    Cheers,
