I don't know the name of the chemical that Hynes Timber use, but their yard foreman at the Imbil pine mill said "may as well on the timber, would be just as useful". No bull true story. Dad and I used to buy around 20 cubes pine a month and found so long as the timber is racked out well and not allowed to get wet blue stain is not a major problem. Sorry I can't help more.
Try QLD Forestries, they might have an idea.
Have a nice day - Cheers

The blue stain sounds cool, maybe you are approaching the problem as a problem.

I thing blue timber would be cool as a table.

The kiwis used to sprinkle boracid acid powder on radiata pine when it was green to stop blue stain.

I think the stain is caused by a fungus which only attacks dead or dying pines.

I remember years ago when the fires went through the Mt Gambier pine forests; they logged everything they could as quick as they could and dumped it in the Coorong which is saline/salt. From the article I read, the salt was supposed to stop the fungus attacking the logs. Still had a fair bit of blue pine around though.

Last year I got two dying pine trees. One has the stain and the other doesn't. They were growing about 6 metres apart. The stain doesn't appear to damage the wood.
