Hi can any one help me with identification of coastal white mahogany trees

One of the most distictive features is that the rough trunk bark extends out over the small branches as well. It is a fibrous bark with vertical fissures.
The wood is yellowish brown similar to tallowood but with occassional gum vein.

As above, plus the bark has a slight silver / grey dusty colour to the surface of it

tThanks for the help guys biggest problem is trying to identify the difference between the mahogany the messmate and the stringybark,is it possible for these species to crossbreed as they are all in the same paddock.

Best way to confirm what you have is hit the books. Next time your near the trees pick up some old seed pods from underneath and if you can, get a sample of the adult leaves. White Mahogany seed pods are like a globe with the top cut off. Look them up and compare your samples.
