Default Any ideas on the type of wood?

    Hi folks,

I recently sourced a little over a meter of this particular wood from a relative. After jointing and squaring up I'm still not sure of what type of wood I'm dealing with. Best guess is some species of Walnut. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

I would say American Black Walnut. Has an earthy, yet slightly sweet smell to it. Shades of purple in places if you are lucky. One of my favorites!
everything is something, for a reason:confused:
