Identifying hardwood
Hey there.
I picked up some hardwood for a really good deal but I have no idea what it is.
Any chance anyone out there would happen to help identify it?
Raw timber
With Scandinavian oil
I intend to use it for a rustic outdoor table at this point.
Cheers.

I'd hazard a guess at Tassie or Qld blue gum or perhaps tallowood, but I'd be very surprised if anyone can really pick it from just those two pic's. Any more info? Where was it from/previous use? Weight, characteristics, smell (when cut), etc - anything ????

I got two pieces.
One 5700 x 180mm
One 5300 x 210mm
Was a sweet smell when cut.
It was stores in a fellas shed so no idea on background and he didn't know info about it.
The 210mm piece is heavy and quite dense.
I'll cut a little bit more later and try and give more info.
Cheers.
