Question Where can I get oak trim in Australia?

    Hello
I am trying to find some oak trims to replace some sections on an old wardrobe I am restoring and I cannot find where to buy them, the sizes I am looking at are 10x10mm square 60cm length, and 8x6mm rounded on one narrow side 25cm length.
I would be grateful for any help
    Thankyou

I don't hink you'll find oak trim anywhere. Furniture timber suppliers sell american oak (pretty much same as European oak) in various sizes..

    Elfkin,
Are you sure the wardrobe is 'oak'? many things (even old) that were called 'oak' or 'English Oak' were really our own hardwoods with a honey coloured shellack on them
I suggest a visit to your hardware store and look where they have the dowel rods- some labelled as Tas Oak and they may have some trim there. Buy or borrow a piece and take it home to compare. It could be more visually important to match the grain and colour than matching the species.

    Elfkin

I have some lumps of English Oak that need cutting up; and would be happy to send you the bits you need.

If you can point me to a mill near the North Shore of Sydney I would be most grateful.

The "lumps" are one to two metres long, 200mm to 600mm diameter.

I'm pretty sure Bunnings sell Tassie Oak trim in the indoor timber / mouldings section.

Hey Alex if you don't want those lumps of oak I'll take 'em off your hands as is
