    Default Koa on Steroids!

Yep,I love Fiddleback, and I love the Acacias that grow in Oz...their form, flowers and of course the stunning timber that many of them produce! Here's a pic of some Nth Qld Brown Salwood that has the most delightful Fiddleback, rivaling it's cousin 'Hawaiian' Koa in colour and chatoyance...a truly lovely wood...Mr Fiddleback

No arguments here, on a par or better than Koa imo.

Beautiful. We have the best timbers in the world right here. Some may lack in workability, but will make up for it in beauty.
I have turned some Koa, there’s no doubting it’s a quality timber, but so are many of ours.

I believe this species to be Celsa as identified by seed pods that were around base of tree but could be a hybrid cross too! The pieces displayed were sourced from a butt log which had a D.B.H.of around 1000mm and was dead standing for a number of years, hence the tannins have beautifully added colour to the already figured heartwood...Mr Fiddleback
