    Nice colours revealed when exposed to sunlight
    Makes the grain 'pop'
    This board is quarter sawn and quite dense btw
    Has an interesting line of 'Compression Fiddleback' through it that makes the grain appear 3D

    Here's a pic of a piece milled from one of the 'spurs' of the butt log
    Intense compression yielding some interesting patterns
    The tannins and natural weathering have provide some beautiful colours too

    These may well end up as salt and pepper grinders
    A quick hit with the planer and Bingo
    Surprisingly little tear out as it is cranky grain
    Sharp blade does help!
