Default WANTED: I need a log. Urgently SE QLD

Hi guys, Where can I get a log approx. 250mm diameter? Dry. I'm not too fussed about species. Lighter weight is better than heavy.

Dear wife wants me to make a table top fountain quickly. She wants a log cut up into sections and hollowed out. Similar to this picture.

I would be making the same thing but out of real wood. I'll just epoxy the inside.

Or if you have a better idea, let me know.

It is for indoors and occasional use.
I'll strip off any bark because it would be an inside but the general idea is to have it with the vibe of a log in a forest.
Perhaps I can rub shoe polish over the outside to make it look aged?

Yes excellent idea. Except it would as wet as wet can be. Where I am they cut down and dispose of everything.
I need one that has seasoned that I can just nip in and pick up.

Still, I'll give them a call.

I'm assuming that H4 treated posts are too dangerous to work?
As in, I would need to shape the log with a power carver. Would that be bad for my health on H4 treated posts?

Try a timber recycling yard for old timber house stumps. Or a house removal specialist, they may be happy for you to take them off their hands for nix.

Friend just dropped a tree in his yard, been dead for a few years so should be dry. Ironbark I think, been trying to give it away but most is still there. Exit 24 in Logan.

Try a firewood supplier - they may have some uncut logs laying around?
