Looking for Lebanese Cyprus
Can anyone help me locate some Cedrus Libani to make a small backgammon board with? I am having trouble sourcing it an would like to know if I am just wasting my time trying.

I think you're after Lebanese Cedar. You can get it, I have a friend who made a kitchen bench from some. It came from somewhere on the north coast - Port MacQuaire I think. It can be found. I'll see if I can dig up where it came from.

Confirmed it was Port. Just trying to find out the name of the company now. Was about 4 years ago, so could be a cold trail by now.
At least you know you can get it. I think instrument makers use it, so you might have luck asking through a luthier (guitar maker). I gather you only want a small amount."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

If you are still looking, I have some of this, in 250 x 25 boards, air dried for about 3 years. I am a fair way aways, in melb, but am happy to send it to you.
