    Default Looking for recycled elm or oak in and around Melbourne

    Hi All,

    I'm looking for some recycled or weathered elm or oak in the Melbourne area. I'm trying to stay away from any high end suppliers (i.e. Shiver me *imbers, etc) where I may have to give away my first born to get it. I have gone to G&H in Preston (Great crew by the way) but they only deal with Aussie hardwoods and Oregons, etc. I have a client who is requesting the timber should "look like its had a hard life" and i'm having a hard time finding that. Any help or advice would be great. I don't mind taking a drive either for it.

    Ken Hanson in Kallista just past Belgrave in the Dandenong ranges. Will PM his number. Lots of slabs of stuff that has grown in the European style gardens around the hills. Been in stacks for at least a decade.

    Recycled oak or elm might be a tall order in Aus.
