Mal's 'new' Swiss bandsaw V a 4 foot blackwood log
ERROR.
Should read 'blackbutt' log.......sorry
Back from Rollands Plains where I spent a week with Mal at Boutique Timbers.
We made some sawdust with an old 4 foot wide blackbutt log, cut some nice slabs and 2" thick planks for stair treads etc.
Slabs are around 60-90mm wide, 50mm thick, prices will be around $200-400 a slab
Pictures also show some northern silky oak planks and some rosewood slabs cut earlier, as well as a few logs left to process, kauri pine and Qld maple, which will be cut into slabs as well.
Nice and green up there at the moment..... the thistle is 5 foot high
Regards
Greg
