melaleuca quinquenervia (PAPERBARK)
I have acquired some quinquenervia logs. Are they ok for turning and how long do I need to leave them to dry out? Cheers JR

Jr,
I haven't turned any melaleuca but I've heard that it turns ok. If the timbet is still green you could rough out some bowls/forms. After roughing I paint the outside with endcheck or Mobilcer to limit cracking when drying. Wet wood is easier to turn than dry and there is little or no dust. You haven't anything to loose if it was free.
