    Default Melbourne timber suppliers

    Hi everyone, I've just joined at the forums and looking forward to getting involved!

    I've been trying to search for a timber supplier in Melbourne that has a decent range of hardwood species. Unfortunately most of my searches come back with lots of places specialising in TP and general building supplies. I'm looking to make a countertop out of Vic Ash and various other projects I have on the list.

    Does anyone have some recommendations for suppliers? Preferably around the northern suburbs of Melbourne, however I'm happy to travel a bit for somewhere highly recommended.

    I can recommend Matthews Timber in Knoxfield (not really North). I've purchased Vic Ash from there to make a desk and was really happy with service and quality.

    Have a look at Danihers Mitre 10 in Heidelberg. It is a long time since I have been there but they used to have a fair range of good timber

    Matthews, Britton Timbers, Global Hardwoods and Hazelwood & Hill should all be worth a look, we used them all at my old work.

    - CERES Fair Wood Home - CERES Fair Wood have some good stuff with a particular focus on sustainability. lovely chaps too! worth giving them a ring

    hey, I'm located in sunbury, not sure if I'm gonna get in the pews for self promotion haha, I'm located in sunbury and sell all sorts of timber, jarrah, vic ash, exotic aus timbers, tallowwood, sugar gum, burls, redeem, camphor and just getting more in.
