Wachya doing oiling it on a day like today?

Now yesterday was a good day for it

If it was oiled when you put it down, say 2-3 coats you should not need to re-oil it only 6 weeks later?

Even if the deck looks crap you can always wait for a fine day and use napisan and clean it all off, or sand the deck back but that is the worst case senario.

I didn't finish prepping it till late yesterday after work and it wasn't dry in time.

That was the first coat, I hadn't oiled it yet and was getting worried I had left it to long.

So can you wash the oil off again do to speak?

Yes, you can always remove the coat of oil if you need to.

Do a search on these forums for deck and napisan or similar, there are some great posts by forum members such as JIMJ and UTEMAD I think from memory, and they go through the techniques.

Basically wet the deck, use Napisan in water, get a deck scrubbing brush and apply it liberally and scrub it.

Then use a high pressure hose and hose it all off, once it is dry the deck should be nice and clean, like when it was first laid etc.

I wouldn't worry too much, only do this procedure if it looks terrible after it has a chance to dry out.

So I checked it out today after work. It hasn't been as damaged as I thought it might. Basically in a few spots you can see where water drops have hit the oil.

Would oiling straight over it a few more times resolve this?

If I was to napisan it, would I have to be carefull where I washed the excess off to? As its right next to new pavers.

Hi mate, good to know that most of the deck is ok.

With regards to oiling straight over it I am not sure, you can alway try and if it doesn't work remove it later I guess.

The Napisan will be fine on Pavers, My deck is butted right up to pavers as well.

Yes I think the renovate forums would be a better choice.
