Mobile Sawmiller ?
Hi People,
I have two largish gum trees (Angophora) that are about to come down on a suburban block. The trunks are close to 3' across and I am considering having them slabbed for future use.
I am located in Sutherland (South Sydney). Vehicle access to the back yard is no good.
I have space in my work shop to stack the timber if it is worth it.
The timber will be used for boxes, furniture or possibly turning - depending on how it comes out.
1./ Is it worth it for this type of tree?
2./ Can the trees be sliced vertically where they stand? (this seems too hard, sounds cheaper, but I don't know)
3./ Any contacts for a mobile sawmill?
4./ Any tips on getting a mobile sawmill in? (approx cost, things to know before, things to get ready etc)
Thanks for any comments.
Dave

Dave,
I used a fellow who is based in Lawson. His mobile number is 0404 263365. He seemed to do a pretty good job on my elm tree.
Hope this helps,
Pete
