Mulberry score
So yesterday I was one of the local landfills to dump some garbage when I noticed some large logs waiting to be buried. On closer inspection I saw that it was Mulberry wood, asked two lads to help me load as many as I could fit on the back of my van.
Anyone here ever worked with this stuff? It sure is a very heavy wood and seems pretty dense, not quite sure what I'm going to do with them yet.
These are the ones I managed to load, there were two more but sadly they were just too big and heavy. They actually look smaller on the photo than in real life.
Cheers

Nice score Johnny!!
If that green offshoot on the bottom log is part of the tree then it's not mulberry. Well not any sort of mulberry I know!
Mulberry, as in the fruit tree, is great to turn.

Great score . Beautiful to turn or to make furniture, but like any fruit/nut tree, cracks like a b--ch so cut and seal it ASAP

Scored some myself the other day. Had already been cut into fire wood. Will cut some turning blanks I spose.

Its quite bland when you turn it but as soon as you put any kind of oil or wax on it it springs to life. The coulours that leap out of the timber are amazing
SteveThe fact remains, that 97% of all statistics are made up, yet 87% of the population think they are real.
