Newbie wood help / suggestions
G'day,
I'm a newbie to woodwork and would like some advice on the type of wood I should be looking for and some suggestions on where to purchase it from in Brisbane.
I want to make a farmhouse style coffee table. I am not sure if I want to paint it, or just a light stain. I have been looking at some plans which have us sizes but no suggestions on the type of wood to use.
The plans are for 2x6, 2x4, and 2x2.
Can anyone help suggest what common Aussie sizes I should be looking for, good places to go to source wood, and what type of wood, I.e pine either treated or untreated.
Since it is my first project, I don't to be spending hundreds of dollars. Not until u refine my skills.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Jamie
