Beautiful!

Gorgeous.
Yarrahappini eh? There was an experimental planting of flooded Gum down at the base of that there mountain. Beautiful stright trees. I think there was also a similar planting of Gympie Messmate.
Beautiful part of the world! Wai Wai State Forest, that crystal clear creek, all the Bangalow palms. Ihave fond memories of the area.

Dorrigo?
Similar to the scrubs on the escarpment up towards Dorrigo. There are often some tall red cedars there as well, but I'd hate to have to get the logs out of these areas

There are many parts ofthat area of the coast where the forest is truly magic.
The Nambucca and the Bellinger are two of my favourite river valleys.

I was reading the local rag the other day & they just found a gigantic tallowood tree in a gully up there & if its like some of the others up there it is probably around the 80 to 90 m3 plus mark excluding the head.

There is a short film called "red gold" filmed in the 50's to the west of Kempsey in on the upper reaches of the macleay river, the size of the red cedars in it & where they were logged out of is almost unbelievable, one log loads on a rail carriage.
Regards inter
PS I have a copy of "red gold"

IIRC there's a book on Aus cedar called Red Gold as well.
