Padauk Timber
Hi!
Can anyone tell me where I could obtain some Padauk timber or veneer? I want to make a small dragon chest. The magazine I got the plan from was printed in the good ole USA where it appears padauk is readily available, but I've searched a lot of suppliers in Oz to no avail. They used solid padauk in the magazine but I was hoping to cheat a little, just use veneer on MDF, but can't even find any veneer. Or can anyone suggest another timber that has that same orange/red colour? It has to go with a black dragon and needs the orange/red to give it that Japanese look.
Thanks,
Scoops

Hello there, I have an African Padouk short board, 665*185*25 that I can be talked into selling/trading. As you can see, it is reasonably flat and free of end splits/cracks
If you are interested, PM me and we can discuss.Pat

Some colour variants of New Guinea Rosewood (Pterocarpus indicus)will give you the colour you want. Try Lazariedes in Brisbane or perhaps Brittons?

Thanks fellas
Turns out that a mate of mine only a couple of suburbs away apparently has some padauk that I could buy from him. Once again, thanks for the offers and assistance,
