    Default paslode gun issue

hey gents i m new on here. my name is george a carpenter by trade. mainly doors, skirtings, architraves, pergolas deckings, framing... etc.

i ve had many paslode guns over the years but that last one i bought, a finish nailer 16ga has been giving me grief. it keeps missfiring more like fully not starting and the light on the handle flashes red and green. i first had this problem about 7 months ago, took the gun to the tool repairer and he told me it was the motor that was gone. we changed that, it worked for a couple of weeks and did it again. i took it back and the guy said it s the spark unit. we changed that. 6 months later i took the gun for a major service. got it back and 2 days later, the same problem again, green red flashing and gun not working. me furious wanting to kill the guy took it back to him and told him that i just paid $170 2 days ago and now the gun s not working. anyway after an argument i told him to #### off and took the gun to another repairer. he found a bad wire going from the motor to the spark unit. changed that, it worked for a day and today again green red green red. if it wasnt worth 600 odd bucks i would have broken the thing. i called the new repairer and told him he said he doesnt know what the issue is. i feel like i ve been getting ripped off by these smart bastards and the issue s something stupid that they keep not fixing so they can keep stealing my money.

now has anyone had this issue and found the solution? cheers guys.

    waiting for your input

Used to have problem, was caused by badly fitting batteries. They move, very slightly, but just enough to make a poor contact.

Id see my guys constantly hitting the battery to get it to set properly.

The only way to check is when it is playing up, re-seat the battery. Try cleaning contacts as well.

I was having a few issues with my straight bradnailer, fire 3 - 4 shots and then think it was on holidays. Lights would flash red, I would see red. Took it to a nail gun service place at Glendale (Newcastle area) $89 and its working great again. Just needed a service I think.

Paslode are good but you have to keep them serviced, always make sure the gas is in date. Check the bottom of the canister for the use by date. The non genuine brands tend to gunk them up too. I bought mine, a framer and the straight brader on ebay, got them serviced and they generaly never miss a beat.
