    Default Paulownia

Has any one worked with paulonia timber?and if so what were the results? Is there a specific purpose for this timber,ie.mouldings,doors,etc.I have one growing in the back yard, and by the look of it the "use by" date is not far away.Being a fast growing source of timber, anyone tried to propagate this variety? Regards............AL

    Champ,
the use of Paulonia has been covered quite recently.
Have a look back through the Timber section, or maybe use the search function.

Lots of comments were made on the subject.

Hope you get something out of it.
    Cheers,
    Clinton

Reeves, since you've got some to look at, what do you think it would be like to carve?
Have a nice day - Cheers

mmm i think the species thats the highest quality Timber would probably carve pretty well...its not dense grain, its quite light and pourus, its very strong along the grain...

The species i have is the more generla one and it seems OK for woodwork....
it owuld probably acrved easily but u owuld need ot check it out for yrself..

i imagine more than a few Buddhas may have been carved out of it over the years...

    cheeeeeeeers
