    Default Pine floor boards

    Hi
l am looking for help/advice with old floor boards. We have just demolished asixty-sevently year old house in the outer east of Melbourne. the boards are some sort of pine, but which baltic, cypress or something else. can anyone try to explain the difference between them.
l have searched but only got more confused.
    Thanks Tim:confused:

Ps the boards are still in the floor, l will be taking them up today.

A photo will help. However, Baltic boards are usually a light honey colour with numerous knots.

Cypress are much darker in colour and probably have more knots than baltic.

If you can, post a pic.

Baltic has peachy/samon to red tones in the grain but mostly light tan and cypress is a creamy/tan with hints of yellow colour.
Old baltic tends to vary a lot in colours compared to the more modern stuff.
The speaker box in my avatar is old baltic pine with a wax finish!(colour untainted)

Here are the pictures of the floor boards, after a bit of a clean up.
These boards were nailed down with oval shaped nails, we think the house was built in the twentues.

Bit hard to tell with those low res pic's...
Here is some old baltic with a clear wax finish thats in bad need of redoing.(no colour correction done on the computer in these pic's). To see if your wood is the same colours sand then wet with water.
Its one of my computer speakers I made about 10yrs ago... before I knew much about woodwork.
