    Default Please help to ID this material

    Big hello to all!!!!
    I have been reading lots of stuff here and find this forum full of great info.
    Little woman is starting to complain that I've been spending too much $$$$$ on tools and staying up till 1am reading stuff on here while in bed.
    she isn't getting much attention lately
    So I thought I better make something soon.
    she likes the timber which one of the boys used on the block (ch9)
    i was hoping you could assist in identifying it

    Geez, that's a hard one. Considering it might be local, it could be something as simple as Vic Ash or something like that. It'd be easy to select something light and apply a poly finish. Go to a timber yard, something like Mathews Timber, and look at what's available and go from there. Mathews is way better than Bunnings or Masters as they have a wide range and many sizes to choose from.

    Im pretty sure that hall table was made by Christian Cole Furniture in Melbourne and from memory was made from Blackbutt. Hope that helps.
