Please help select inexpensive timber for overhanging trellis project.
Looking for suggestions from someone in Aus who knows wood and wood sourcing.
As usual I'm just trying to stay busy.
I'm NOT trying to run a business selling my projects.
I've designed a mobile overhanging trellis project for a vine.
I'm looking for an inexpensive material to build it with.
And looking for any suggestions in the design of this structure.

I had planned on making it from treated pine but a suggestion of making it from cedar had been made.
I've found a source of fresh cut cedar not kiln nor air dried.
150x150x2.4 for around $50 per post.
Was wondering if fresh cedar post is stable enough to cut down to 50x50 and will stay stable once the structure had been built?
Or perhaps I can apply poly or oil to help?
Is 50x50 fresh cedar strong enough for this project?
Also I've just found 50 x 50 x 2.4 Mixed hardwood battens for a little less.
grrrr fresh milled.
Thanks in AdvanceThanks,

Go to your local timber framing company or similar and price up hardwood H3 or H4 fence railing. These can be 50 x 100 or 45 x 90. This is the cheapest straight-ish durable hardwood I’ve come across.
