Pretty happy with this
Along with all my grandfather's and uncle's tools that I inherited a few years back there were two large boards that I discovered underneath the 'family castle'. Without doubt the boards would have been obtained by my grandfather and as he died almost 55 years ago have been around a considerable period of time. The boards were 30mm thick before dressing (now 27mm), 3.5m long and 400mm wide at one end and 350mm the other. They have been lying around my shed for a while now and finally a project has come up to which I can use 1 1/4 boards. I had always suspected that they were kauri which was confirmed after I had them machined up.
The two boards are in the background, standing against the bench.
