Default Does anyone know where i can get a thick slab of tasmanian oak?

howdy to everyone, i'm about to start work on an 18th century Japanese wheeled chest and am in need of a bit of help finding timber in the right size to make up a new set of wheels for it.

I notice you are in Belgrave. Do you know of Ken Hanson in Kallista. Has lots of slabs of stuff. Native and exatics harvested in the hills. From peoples gardens and stuff. Not sure if he would have Tassie oak, ( or vic ash, ) but maybe something do-able. You never know what comes out of peopels gardens up here. His number is 9755 1601. Tel him I sent you.
