    Default Re:-Timber for QLD

Sassy's computer is down at the moment so if any one has any enquiries you will have to go through me or ring Dave direct on 03 62971101.(evenings)
Dave is putting together some really nice turning blanks of Sassy and highly figured Myrtle so he will be bringing a crate over full of blanks and other miscelaneous small pieces.Other than that he will be bringing only timber that is ordered............There will be an address posted before we come over as to where the timber will be available for purchase or perusal...

    Default It's here

Righto Qlders, it's here and it's very, very nice. Burl slices of myrtle and eucalypt; a couple of myrtle slabs, blackwood slabs & a few huon slabs; a good quantity of blackwood and sassafrass boards from 12mm on up to 40mm, lots of turning blanks ranging from pen blanks to larger spindle blanks and bowl blanks in myrtle burl, myrtle, sassafrass, blackwood and celery-top pine. All well-priced and waiting.

If you're after a slab or some boards in local timbers, they're still here as well.

Dave and Jim (Sassy and Tasman) will be here for a few days only, so make the most of it if you'd like to say hello.
    Cheers,
    Craig

yes, I dropped down yesterday with Paul and we picked up some nice turning burls and some sassy boards and other bits and pieces. Thanks Dave for getting the right burls to me, i appreciate yr efforts.

It's good to see the Tassie guys up here and thanks to Craig for showing us round the workshop.

Theres some really nice pieces on offer so I urge any queenslanders to get down and check em out if you can. If their shipment is well supported in sales they might make it a more regular trip. Dont miss out, you wont see tassie timbers like this anywhere else in Brisbane and the prices are very good.

Yes to everything Reeves has said.

I got plenty of wood and great stuff cheap.

It was great to meet the guys and talk about the same passion - wood.

Myrtle was my thing and here is a sample of box stuff i got - flame myrtle size 300x100x30mm.

I have enough myrtle to frame SWMBOs dressing table mirror - next years project.

I got myrtle, flame myrtle and some neat cheap huon too
    Cheers

    What a buzz!!!!

I ended up in Brisbane unexpectedly yesterday afternoon, so actually managed to catch up with Sass, Tas, Exador and Knucklehead - and the Timber!!!!!!!

Couldn't help myself - I couldn't leave the talking timber there, I had to give some of it a good home

I found some lovely rustic, spalted, flaming myrtle, some very sassy sassafras, a few interesting pieces of blackwood, a bit of burl and a few other assorted pieces as well.

It's gorgeous stuff, I can't wait to get a chance to work with it.

Thanks Guys!!!!!! You definitely cheered me up!!

Sorry TeeJay!! I thought you left it especially for me
There was a lot of this going on when I was there. This particular bit of myrtle had many colours running through it and the natural edge thing happening too. I found all 4 of its bits so it's really happy now.

    Cheers
