Radiata Pine plantation for sale to highest bidder
Hi,
We have bought a farm with approx 14 acres of Radiata Pine plantation on it - previous owner planted it and it hasn't been thinned recently. Trees are approx 25 years old we estimate. The land is more valueable to us as grazing land so we are keen to sell the timber for whatever we can get for it (preferably the whole plantation in one go). If you are interested, know someone who would be interested or can suggest where else I can advertise the plot for sale please contact me [email protected]

First off is it yours to sell?
Are you sure the previous owner hasn't neglected to tell you that the trees belong to some agricultural tax minimisation scheme from the mid 1980s ? -- i.e. you own the land but not the trees
on the basis that the trees are yours, 14 acres is about 6ha, and teh softwood industry harvests around 400ha per annum in the Walcha area -- which is not that far from you -- the trees probably are not worth that much afer you take accpount of the cost of getting teh harvesting operation onto your land
Anyway, give this mob a try, they may know something useful:

I have had a few emails from her the pines are too immature for harvest as yet but would be great in ten years if it was thinned
