    Default Redgum Slabs

Just wondering if anyone is able to help me source a Redgum slab. It needs to be a minimum on 3.0m long and 1400mm wide bark to bark edges and as straight as possible. Any help as to who to contact of where to look would be great.

Lee, Unless its about 100 mm thick chances are something this wide in redgum is gonna move on a seasonal basis and possibly a lot. Do you really know what you are getting into?

A mate of mine at Byrneside (near Tatura) cuts a lot of redgum for furniture - I'll see if he can help out.

You live in Echuca and are looking for a redgum source? Go down to the old river port area and at the far left hand end (as you are looking at the river) on the river side of the street is a guy who sells redgum slabs. Don't know if he would have the size slab you are after but ask some questions and see how you go. On a local front there is a guy who goes to markets here in Canberra who has said he has sent redgum down to Echuca because the locals dealers over value it too much. I didn't do the maths on the bits that I saw there but they didn't look too expensive to me.

    Good luck,

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.
