    Question resawing burls

I hope someone out there can offer advice.
I am working with some Coolibah burls, those lumpy growths on the side of a tree, and after bandsawing out the blocks I need (using a 3/4" 4tpi blade) I got to thinking of resawing the leftovers into veneer. Some of the stuff is old, but some of it is relatively green...obviously easier to cut, but how do you think it will season in thin veneers?
I guess I want to know how much it will warp and curl; will the sapwood seperate from the heart; how thick should I resaw the veneers; and any hints as to seasoning procedures? Are there tricks like painting with wax, or bagging it up or even soaking it in water first, then pressing?
BTW the grain in some of these lumps is superb, not just the heartwood either, the sapwood has amazing birdseye patterns.

    Thanks for your time,
    Andy Mac

    Hi there,

I've been mucking about with someone's digcam and have a couple of shots of the Coolibah. I think I've learnt how to reduce the file size...
First is a nice "brick", to use Schtoo's word, which I wiped with a damp cloth to show the amazing grain, but some hairline cracks are appearing. The next one is a shot of some small veneers cut from scrap...thinnest is about 2.5-3mm. As you can see they don't season too well, only been a week or so and virtually unusable now!
