Roadside timber - Vic ash?
I picked up some timber off the verge, I think it's Vic Ash? The first photo shows it with the old finish. I took some of the finish off and the third photo is the best representation of the actual colour.
Cheers,
Tim

Just going by the photo I would not say Vic Ash. Neil's answer is on the money for me.

Thanks gents, I stand corrected, I think you have both got it right. A rough calculation of density based on one board gave 450 kg/m3, which seems too light for Vic ash but about right for meranti.
