    Default Robinia pseudoacacia (Robinia or Black Locust)

    Have obtained some nice local Robinia (short logs & half logs) for turning etc. Its also called Black Locust. All of it is still green ...
    Thought I would share pic of one crotch piece with nice figure (crotch & fiddleback)
    The wood colour is greenish-yellow with dark streaks (more dramatic that shown). These show a rough chain sawn surface so some imagination is necessary

    Yes poundy, I thought so too.... as long as there is a NET decrease I still see the trend as downsizing
    Sometimes opportunity and beauty "knocks" & is still irresistible to me. Cant sell some of my woods ... not yet, its hard to let go
