seasoning timber
A good way of seasoning small lengths of timber is to put it in the microwave.use the microwave in very short lengths of time (only a couple of seconds) to start with.Weigh you timber after every time in the microwave and when it does not lose anymore weight it is seasond.I repeat do not overdo the time in the microwave as it can explode and blow up the microwave and the wife may get a bit upset when she has to clean the microwave of the walls and ceiling and you may have to pay for some plastic sugery.

Bentley - ya left out the first step, which is:
"Ensure that you have a very understanding wife/partner/significant other;"
etc.
And the final step:
"If things go horribly wrong, as they occasionally do, vacate kitchen area promptly with wood specimen, purchase expensive gift for the boss of the kitchen. Deny all knowledge of charred remnants on microwave door, top, sides, etc."
(On second thoughts, delete the expensive gift part- it just corroborates your guilt and you are both in the poo AND out of pocket. Skip the country leaving no forwarding address 'til things cool down a bit......)
Cheers,IW
