    Default Seeking timber in Brisbane. Flamed maple plus others

    As the title suggests im looking for quantities of wood suitable for guitar (bass) building, such as flamed maple for a fretboard, White beach for neck through laminates ( probabily around 2mm-12mm varying thicknesses) silver ash for either binding and/or body wings, and another red or dark brown timber for the neck aswell. havent made up my mind about that one yet because i had thought jarrah would be good but cant find any red enough for my fancy.     Default Seeking Timber in Brisbane

    Anyone in the SEQ/Northern NSW region seeking finer, hard-to-get timber should contact Allen in Mullumbimby. He runs a fairly small mill and logs every tree by hand. He has a lot of Silver Ash and a range of unusual timbers including some that would suit guitar making. And sells it a half the price of other stores. The place is a woodworkers dream and I'm actually a bit reluctant to share this info. It's worth the drive down the coast. It's on Saddle Rd but give him a call first on 0411829718.
