Sheoak again.
I have a passion for sheoak, if you haven't already noticed. I think it is the prettiest of our local WA timbers.
Bit the bullet today. I heard that a Mt Barker sawmill was about to unload a solar kiln full of sheoak, arrived there to see the first pallet taken out and spent over 2 hours picking through 6 cubic metres of 100 x 25 mm planks. I bought a trailer load.
The stuff was cut from a grove of old trees that had to go to make way for a road widening. It was milled to order for floor boards but the deal fell through.
I now have it stacked up in my rack waiting for inspiration.
It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

Hi Rob ...let me know when you're goin' away on holiday...and I'll offer to babysit it for you
I went to an auction yesterday and also bought a swag much to the delight of 'Er Indoors' But in the form of Sheoak slabs and Jarrah slabs at around 12-15% moisture content and ready to use.
I don't know about the credit card, I think it's haemorrhaging in a fiscal sense and the medical personage in the form of 'Er Indoors has relieved me of it and is in the process of nursing it back to health!
Cheers
