Shipping Timber from the US to Australia
Hi Folks,
It seems that the US Postal Service discontinued "Sea Mail" in 2007. That means that the big carriers (USPS, UPS and FedEx) use air mail and that's seriously expensive. Does anyone have any ideas on how to ship 20-50kg from the US to Australia without going broke? I just stumbled on these places but I have no knowledge of them:
Ipsparcel
American Baggage International Freight Carriers, Inc.
Any ideas?

Borderlinx
I have used Borderlinx in the past 12 months.
Less than a week for delivery to Australia. They will hold parcels for up to a month so that you can get the cost benefit of a larger shipment size. Many US sales outlets offer free freight to US addresses.
I discovered that items were shipped from the original supplier in much larger boxes at times so this pushed up the freight cost to Australia.Kev

Not sure if this is relevant however I've used Price USA before with great success.
The other option is to contact a customs/freight company and get your items placed on a container which needs a top up. This can reduce your freight costs however the time it takes to get here can be lengthy.-Scott
