    Default Silky Oak Available

I have a large silky oak tree in my yard in suburban Brisbane. My dad is a cabinetmaker but lives in Darwin so is too far away to benefit from the timber. I want to have it milled &/or sell the tree. Does anyone know the best way to go about this. I was going to advertise the tree for sale but do not know its worth. Also if I do sell it to someone I do not know if they are going to be cowboys when it comes to the removal. Was thinking of chosing the tree lopper myself if they are able to cut into long enough lengths of course. Hope some of you knowledgable guyd can be of assistance.

Unless its a real bigun, dont expect to make any money out of it.
There are people who will take it away if its big enough to be worthwhile and in long enough pieces.
The cost of the lopper will be by far the most significant figure involved you may save dump fees by letting someone come & get it .
    cheers

mate contact Exador on this forum or look up eco urban timbers in Brecknock street at archerfield, they often mill stuff to spec and have lots of experience with the ol grevillea robusta.

i am up for some 6X6 chunks about 12 inche sor more if the grain is good...

What size is the trunk? Can you wrap your ams around it?

    What suburb are you in?

Is there good trailer access to it?
